Bowie is Back

Today is possibly making me as happy as the day Josh proposed. David Bowie has announced he's coming out with a new album in March entitled The Next Day. Today is his 65th birthday and with that he not only gave the announcement about his new album, but already released a new single and video. The single Where Are We Now? is already playing on repeat on my computer, though I do find the video to be a bit weird and low budget for someone who probably has unlimited resources. But it's Bowie and there will be no criticism, only love and tears of joy. Not joking, I cried.

David Bowie has had the power to reduce to me to ultimate fangirldom since I was ten and I watched the Labyrinth at Julie Rittner's 13th birthday party. I can't tell you how many times I've watched that movie. So many I can sing along with it and quote. I'll probably watch it tonight. His voice and songs hit in me that other artists just can't. Another sign of fangirldom is my only tattoo is bowie inspired. I actually wanted the Labyrinth poster tattooed, but it was too expensive and I was afraid of scaring away potential employers. I used to sleep with a poster of him over my bed and my mom and I would fight over a  collectible figurine I had of him as Jareth the Goblin king because she thought he looked like a demon.

"time may change me, but i can't trace time"
So I will have that album the day it comes out. I will buy all related merchandise. And if he tours again, I will spend any amount of money I can afford to make sure I'm there. OMG SHIVERS, I MIGHT SEE DAVID BOWIE IN CONCERT AND THEN I WILL HAVE LIVED A FULL AND COMPLETE LIFE.

  1. I watched that movie many times with my sister. Not so much for Bowie but loved all the songs.

    1. The songs are great and the video is great too! But Bowie is what makes that movie really stand out! I've wanted to trade spots with Jennifer Connelly so many times....

    2. She was probably my first ever celeb crush because of that movie. Bowie did make the movie, you are right, but I had no idea who he was then.

  3. You were just saying, in the back of Hiroki's friend's van on the way to that restaurant that gave us bananas as souvenirs, how your life would be complete if you could only see David Bowie in concert! Your ultimate wish might come true!

    1. Haha, in Takamaru's van right?
The fact that my life's goal might happen is sort of mind blowing to me.
